International Symposium
What Future for which churches?

Université du Québec à Montréal
October 19-22 2005

A
symposium organized by

UQAM's Canada Research Chair on Urban Heritage
Quebec Religious Heritage Foundation
Montreal Heritage Council
and Concordia University

Bringing together nearly 50 guest speakers and more than 300 delegates from Europe and North America to attend a four-day symposium on the future of churches was a major event in itself. Sensitive as we are to the many challenges facing Québec’s ecclesiastical heritage, we were delighted with the response we heard from our peers, who, like us, are engaged in a daily struggle to find innovative heritage solutions guaranteeing that places of worship will have a future. We would like to thank each and every one of our guest speakers for the huge generosity they showed throughout the entire symposium.

We also wish to acknowledge that this international symposium could not have attained the scope that it did without the support of several financial partners, who are listed below.
